Method Man‘s daughter Chey kept it in the family as she kicked a freestyle over a Redman classic this week.

The New York native stopped by Sway’s Universe on Shade 45 on Wednesday (April 17) and spit some bars over Red’s 1998 song, “Da Goodness.”

Chey only just recently launched a rap career of her own and last month, she got the ultimate co-sign from Trina.

In an Instagram post, Chey shared a carousel of photos and videos from a Detroit concert where the legendary Florida rapper brought her out as a special guest.

In another social media clip, the Diamond Princess shared some words with the newcomer, who upon walking away expressed her immense excitement by exclaiming: “Trina likes my song, bitch!”

In her caption, she added: “We told y’all I was taking over right? Trinaaaa [four heart-gesture emojis] @trinarockstarr thank you so much for having me!! I appreciate you and respect you so much for everything you do for upcoming artists!!! I PERFORMED FOR A SOLD OUT SHOW IN DETROIT!!!!!!! I still can’t believe it. I’m so grateful.”

Chey dropped the drill-inspired “Hair and Nails” in January and has since followed it up with another song and accompanying video titled “Boujee & Ghetto.”

Although she may be one of the Wu-Tang Clan rapper’s three children, she is adamant about putting in the work and not relying on her dad to give her a boost.

“A lot of people would say [that he could just make a call and put me on], but at the end of the day, you gotta put in the work,” she said in an interview with Shaoliiin Entertainment earlier this year. “He could do that but he rather see me work for it and really push but he’s gonna support one thousand gajillion trillion percent. But he wants to see the work too.”
